This is me using my Nexus One to learn 5 French words (or phrases, or units of meaning) a day on a 7 day trip through France & Switzerland.
My French is bad (vaguely remembered dodgy school French + guessing from good Spanish & English).
This is really about exploring how I can use portable technology to exploit opportunities for acquiring language by connecting me to the environment, people and all kinds of tools and services that can help me (basically an Ecology of Resources). Yep, that's my PhD topic.
It really means "put an end to dry feet" - as in feet that are dried out and cracked.
RépondreSupprimerThat's how I would translate "no more dry feet" in French...
RépondreSupprimerAs is so often the case my guess work was somewhat off the mark and not helped by Google translate...
RépondreSupprimerMany thanks, makes perfect sense now - updating the record on miLexicon ;-)
Now thinking of ways I could try to use "En finir..."
En finir avec 'literal translation' -> put an end to my own literal translations?
